0

Ellerstadt (ots).

On the evening of 02.09.17, an animal protection worker informed police in Bad Dürkheim that a hole in the tank of a Greek land turtle had been drilled in Ellerstadt.
Through the hole a cord also had been pulled to obviously prevent the turtle to run away.

The woman was concerned that this animal could be injured by the cord, since the owner of the animal is on vacation. On spot, the turtle was actually found in a garden by the police.

The approx. 60 cm long string was removed and the animal was put into its enclosure. An lawsuit was filed against the non-present owner of the turtle because of a breach of the animal welfare law.
